Introduction Womenââ¬â¢s right is a controversial and sensitive topic in todayââ¬â¢s society. Gender inequality has been a great issue for decades and is closely related to the harmony of the society as well as the development of human civilization. Religion, as one of the most significant products of human civilization, is extraordinary influential in guiding peopleââ¬â¢s beliefs and thoughts. Therefore, different religious views of womenââ¬â¢s rights play big roles in building peopleââ¬â¢s conceptions. Among the religions, Islam, as a religion with over half a billion women believers and a religion dominant in approximately 45 countries, seems to be the most controversial religion upon this topic. A lot of scholars, both advocates and opponents towardsâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Meanwhile, historical influence, cultural differences in various countries and regions, as well as personal quality are inevitable factors towards this issue. The goal of the paper is to study the inf luence of Islam on womenââ¬â¢s rights based on various factors as objectively as possible. Analysis of Religious Text Just as peopleââ¬â¢s acknowledgment, religious people regard sacred texts and religious laws as the guidance of their thoughts and deeds. For Muslims, the Qurââ¬â¢an, Hadith, as well as Islamic law thus play the roles to guide Muslims. It seems that injustice to Muslim women are widespread in actual life.However, once we get to the Qurââ¬â¢an, we could find that Godââ¬â¢s justice as well as compassion towards women are reflected throughout this noblest text of Islam. Dr. Hassan, as a Muslim woman and a scholar of Islam,devotes her career in advocating for Muslim women. According to her analysis of Qurââ¬â¢an, it ââ¬Å"promoted religious and social equality and justice between men and women and that what the Qurââ¬â¢an basically aimed at was the removal of certain abuses to which women were subjected.â⬠1(Hassan) In this case, how might the discrepancy between Islamic ideals and actual practice has come about?
